Defining SAP IBP Connections

You must create a connection to the SAP IBP instances before TA can run SAP IBP jobs. These connections must also be licensed before TA can use them.

Adding an SAP IBP Connection

To add a connection:

  1. Click Administration > Connections on the Navigation pane to display the Connections pane.

  2. Click Add and choose the SAP IBP Adapter option from the list of connection types, or right-click and choose Add Connection > SAP IBP Adapter from the context menu to display the Connection Definition dialog.

  3. Enter a name for your SAP IBP connection in the Name field. This is the name that TA will use to identify your SAP IBP connection.

  4. Enter a numeral to limit the number of jobs run simultaneously in the Job Limit field.

  5. Choose a runtime user from the Default Runtime User list. This is optional and designates a default runtime user when defining a new job for the SAP IBP system.

  6. Choose the required time zone in the Scheduling Time Zone list.

If you are defining multiple connections to SAP IBP instances, designate a default connection to an SAP IBP instance by selecting the Use as default for SAP IBP Jobs option for one of the SAP IBP connections.

  7. Click the SAP IBP tab.

  8. Choose the Communication User from drop-down list. For more information about the communication user, see Adding a Communication User as a Runtime User.

  9. Enter the URLs from the Communication Arrangements created earlier in the External Scheduler Integration Service URL and the Application Log Service URL fields. For more information about the communication user, see Prerequisites.

  10. Click TEST to check whether the connection is successful against the specified Communication User credentials.

SAP IBP Connection Status

The TA Master must connect to an SAP IBP instance to define SAP IBP jobs. Successful connection between the TA Master and SAP IBP instance is indicated by a green status light in the Connections pane.

Conversely, a red status light is shown for a failed connection. For more information about defining SAP IBP jobs, see Defining an SAP IBP Job.
