Configuring the Adapter

While creating an SAP PI job in TA is similar to creating other TA jobs, there are differences in the configuration prior to creating SAP PI jobs and in additional information required for a complete PI job definition.

The adapter software is installed as part of a standard installation of TA.

See Configuring service.props for information about general and adapter-specific properties that can be set to control things like logging and connection properties.

Prerequisites

Complete these prerequisites before TA can successfully work with a SAP PI instance:

• Assign these J2EE roles to the SAP user to start, stop, or retrieve PI channel information.

  xi_af_channel_admin_display: to verify the status of communication channels.

  xi_af_channel_admin_modify: to perform start and stop actions on communication channels.

• Enable the external control to perform actions such as starting, stopping, and verifying the status of communication channels on SAP PI.
