Comparing Components
The Compare Component tool allows you to quickly detect differences between certain tables in different Tidal databases.
Access the Compare Components tool from the Compare Components menu action.
The Compare Component control has two tabs: Compare Components and Compare Results. The default tab displayed is Compare Components.
The Compare Components Tab
The Compare Components tab displays two DB selectors, side-by-side, designated DB A and DB B.
Note: The selected DBs must belong to the same Tidal instance. Alternatively, they may belong to the same Tidal environment if the ‘AllowCompareWithinTidalEnvironment’ license feature is enabled. Comparison of DBs across Tidal environments is not supported.
Once DB A and DB B have been selected, click Compare to run the compare operation and open the Component Comparison Summary view.
The Compare Component Result Tab
The Compare Result tab view presents a summary of the comparison results for various component data areas compared.
The view has seven sections top to bottom: six Data Comparison Summary areas and a Save/Load result area.
Data Summary Areas
The data summary areas are:
-
varmst Comparison
The varmst area summarizes the comparison result of varmst tables in the DBs.
Each row that is compared represents a separate variable definition in the varmst table.
For varmst comparison, the variables are matched on variable name.
-
jobclass Comparison
The jobclass area summarizes the comparison results jobcls tables in the DBs.
Each row compared represents a separate variable definition in the jobcls table.
For jobclass comparison the variables are matched on class name.
-

-
trgmst Comparison

-
nodmst Comparison
The nodmst area summarizes the comparison results based on the nodmst tables in the DBs.
-

Each data comparison summary section contains a summary of the comparison result relating to the data for A and B respectively.
For A and B:

-
Number of unique rows.
-
Total no of columns compared.
-
