Known Issues in Tidal Automation 2024.3

Note: These known issues apply to the main product release. If you are looking for fixes made after that, check out the Hotfixes section for the latest updates.

We are aware of current known issues and limitations in Tidal Automation 2024.3, and our team is actively working to find a solution to resolve these issues:

  • TDLD-778 The superuser is not being created as expected during a fresh installation of Tidal Automation Master version 2024.2.8 on a Linux machine with PostgreSQL 14. To bypass the issue, create the superuser in PostgreSQL manually.

  • TDLD-683 The cm.cmd setbindpwd command creates password with '<' & '>' symbols that is breaking a user-auth.xml structure.

  • TDLD-555 TA 6.5.12+ able to add outage on Master and Backup Master connections with the API.

  • TDLD-341 Tidal becomes unresponsive when handling job groups with more than 900 Jobs. An error persists until the user refreshes the browser.

  • TDLD-399 If the Job Event with a trigger "Operator cancelled the job" is set on a job group and the user cancels a child job, the event is triggered for both the job group and the child job. However, the user cancelled the child job, not the entire job group.

  • TDLD-2099 Linux Installation – Some JAR files are missing after upgrading TA on Linux from version 6.5.12 to 2024.3.

  • TDLD-757 Client Manager – The CM upgrade from the 2024.2.8 version to 2024.3.3 is not working properly. To bypass this issue, perform the complete CM uninstallation, then reinstall it.

  • TA-63037 Master – When using the master scheduler setup.exe and trying to point to the Oracle database, the database name is pre-filled with "Admiral", and there is no option to change it.

  • TDLD-636 WebService Job – While creating a runtime user with a WebService password, establishing a secure connection for the WebService, and configuring a job, the WebService job completes abnormally and returns an HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized error.

  • TDLD-637 WebService Job – The Agent name is not updated in either the grid or the API.

  • TDLD-554 FileWatcher Jobs – The FileWatcher jobs remain in the Launched state after master failover.

  • TDLD-765 Actions – While editing the data on the Variable tab and saving it, changes are not saved.

  • TDLD-775 Job Definitions – The adapter tabs can’t be resized on the Job Definitions starting from Tidal 6.5.12.

  • TDLD-771 Connections – The connection status is refreshing slowly.

  • TDLD-578 Connections – Incorrect version shown for the Tidal Automation JDBC adapter on the Connections grid.

  • TDLD-751 Job Activity – The Wait counter shows a wrong number of jobs with a waiting status.

  • TDLD-992 Job Activity – Jobs in the shifting stage are displaying at the same time across different job time zones.

  • TDLD-838 Master – The logs are not being deleted according to the parameters specified in the master.props file on Unix.

  • TDLD-1012 Master – Unknown new log messages appear the Scheduler-####.out.

  • TDLD-1014 Master Status – Not all user notifications are appearing. The messages “Backup master lost connection to Fault Monitor” and “Primary master lost connection to Fault Monitor”, as well as the messages when the Backup master is killed or when failing from Backup back to Primary are not displayed.

  • TDLD-764 Actions – While selecting the "Copy Variable" action, and then double-click the copied variable to open and modify it, the copied variable contains no data.

  • TDLD-678 Job Activity – When using a Filter Tag, sometimes when the job runs it disappears from the Jobrun in Job Activity.

  • TDLD-734 Business View – An error occurs while deleting the dependency arrow.

  • TDLD-680 Jobs – The inactive (disabled) events appear for jobs.

  • TDLD-562 Jobs – Users encountered an error "500" when deleting 1k jobs.

  • TDLD-676 Events – While removing the event via Where used, the system lets users remove the events that have been used.

  • TDLD-587 Job Dependency – When checking "last run" in job dependency creation, infinite dependency loops will be created on the first creation (not 2nd attempt, only the first). Dependency loop detection missing a "last run" choice.

  • TDLD-586 Agent List – An error occurs when changing an agent list type from "Balanced Load" to "Balanced Available".

  • TDLD-561 Job/Business Activity – The calendar image icon is broken in the Firefox browser.

  • TDLD-320 Patch Installer – When performing a major patch upgrade from 6.5.15 to 2024.2 the Servlet.jar and servlet-api-3.1.jar files are still in the CM/lib.

  • TDLD-855 Logs – When setting the filter to “Defaults” on the Operations – Logs tab, saving the changes, and switching to another tab, the log filter does not work properly when return to the Logs tab.

  • TDLD-1017 Dashboard – An error appears in the message log when loading the "Today’s Alerts" dashboard component.

Adapters and Agents

  • TDLD-694 Issue with validating adapter connections in Cognos, Email, Google BigQuery Google Compute Engine, Hive, JD Edwards, JMS, MSSql, SSH, VMware, and WebService Adapters. If you have made updates and experiencing issues with one of these adapter connections, we recommend disabling and re-enabling the connection to ensure everything works properly.

  • TDLD-633 AWS Connection – An AWS Adapter Connection throws an error when specifying the region via the Region drop-down list.

  • TDLD-748 JDEdward Connection – An umbrella exception occurs for a lowercase text in the Role field on the Connection Definition tab.

  • TDLD-998 Java Agent – An FTP Job is stuck in the Launched Status with an invalid local user.

  • TDLD-826 Agents – After reinstalling agents, which deletes all configuration files, including sftp.json, users need to reconfigure sftp.json.

  • TDLD-777 The zO/S child job is not getting the Run tab information from the parent job group.

  • AWS and Kubernetes Adapters – The up and down arrow buttons do not save values; you will need to manually enter the numbers.

Known Issues from the Release 2024.2

There is important information regarding current known issues or limitations in Tidal Automation, starting from 2024.2:

  • TA-62380 The "Secure" option prevents users from working with the API. To bypass the issue, remove the Secure attribute from CSTSED Cookies.

  • TA-62485 Business Activity – The monitor does not show stats for tagged jobs.

  • TA-62500 Business Activity – The "Revert to Schedule" option does not work with Job Groups.

  • TA-62489 SLA/Business Activity – The "Set JobRun SLA Time (Add hours/mins| Subtract hours/mins)" function is not available.

  • TA-62486 SLA/Business Activity – An error occurred when listing instances, likely for future dates only.

  • TA-61643 SLA/Business Activity – "Override Job SLA" functionality is not functioning on the Job Activity page.

  • TA-61678 Business/SLA/Queues Activity – Some statuses (Waiting on dependency, Agent Disabled, Agent Unavailable, etc.) are not displayed.

  • TA-61655 Business/SLA/Queues Activity – List instances remove Job Run instances from the panel.

  • TA-62444 Critical Path Diagram – The Critical path option is not working correctly for jobs in JAC, Business, SLA, and QUEUE activity menus.

  • TA-62532 Critical Path and PERT Diagrams – Auto-refresh does not work for PERT and Critical Path diagrams.

  • TA-62441 Gantt Chart (JAC, SLA, Business, QUEUE activities) – An error occurred while displaying the graph for jobs with variable dependencies.

  • TA-62440 Gantt Chart (JAC, SLA, Business, QUEUE activities) – An error occurred while showing the graph for jobs with file dependency.

  • TA-62411 Jobs – Job ID ascending sorting fails to function properly for multiple-level groups on the Jobs page.

  • TA-62426 Jobs – The Edit Last Run Status functionality on the Jobs page throws an error.

  • TA-62408 Jobs – Images fail to display for the jobs on the Job Definition tab.

  • TA-62439 Job Activity – Searching for jobs under job groups does not work for Job activity.

  • TA-62423 Job Activity – The Grouping Diagram option behaves inconsistently with each use.

  • TA-62403 Job Activity – The final status is incorrect for a parent job. Some jobs have completed and some timed out for the day, but the final status still shows as waiting on dependency.

  • TA-61532 Job Activity – The Defaults button behaves incorrectly on the Job Activity Details page.

  • TA-61503 Job Activity – Variables are not saved when modified in the grid for Job Activity.

  • TA-62405 Job Classes – Images are not displaying correctly for job classes on the Job Class Definition tab.

  • TA-62398 Insert Jobs – Job details are not updated when switching between jobs in the insert step.

  • TA-62396 Insert Jobs into Schedule – An error occurred when selecting date boxes.

  • TA-62389 Job Forecast – Forecasting job results in incorrect dates for jobs inserted into the schedule.

  • TA-62529 Queue Activity – Selecting the "Show Graph Progress" checkbox on the Queue Activity page causes an error message on the Gantt Chart.

  • TA-62524 Queue Activity – The List Activity checkbox does not function correctly on the Queue Activity page.

  • TA-62547 Queue Activity – The jobs with an estimated duration of less than 1 hour are incorrectly classified as Long Scheduled Jobs.

  • TA-62541 Queue Activity – On-demand jobs are incorrectly classified as Scheduled Jobs.

  • TA-61573 ASCII issue – Special characters are not recognized in jobs and variables.

Known Issues from the Release 2024.1

There is important information regarding current known issues or limitations in Tidal Automation, starting from 6.5.15:

  • TA-61092 Job Activity – The Top option in the upper grid menu (tool bar) is not functioning correctly.

  • TA-61314 Job Activity – An error pop-up appears in the Job Activity window when clicking the View Archive Logs button under the Audit Log tab.

  • TA-61010 Job Activity – The job enters a loop when the job event for maximum rerun attempts is applied.

  • TA-61025 File Events – The File Event Trigger column does not sort correctly.

  • TA-62271 FTP Job – The UI Issues on the FTP Job Definition Tab. The Advanced button is partially displayed or cut off. In the Command Builder submenu, the buttons are larger than expected, causing them to overlap with nearby UI elements.

  • TA-61553 Jobs – The Search by Name function on the Jobs page does not work when a filter is applied.

  • TA-62176 Calendar – An incorrect forecast is displayed for a job when a group calendar with conditions is added.

  • TA-61589 Fiscal Calendar – The fiscal calendar's default effective year is set to 2023.

  • TA-62173 Agent List – Incorrect filtering behavior occurs during the Agent List search.

  • TA-61756 Terminator Job – Error occurs when creating a job with a Completion status set to Unrecoverable.

  • TA-61675 Security Policy – The wrong content of the document is printed.

  • TA-61667 Adapters view – Print and Print Selected options are not executing on the Adapters page.

  • TA-61665 Adapters view – Select All is not executing for the Adapter view.

  • TA-61631 Connections – The subset calendar forecast is empty when the "If conflicts with Previous day" condition is applied.

  • TA-61552 Events/Calendar/Actions pages – The Modified Date field is empty in the print view.
