Upgrading Tidal Repository

Note: This upgrade functionality is available for the Tidal Repository 1.8 or above versions and requires Java 17. If the Tidal Repository version you are using is less than 1.8, uninstall the previous version before upgrading your current Tidal Repository.

Note: If your current version is a 4-digit version, for example, 1.11.1.11, and you would like to upgrade it to 1.11.1.12, remove the current version and install the required one.

Windows Upgrade

To upgrade the Tidal Repository starting from the 1.8 version:

  1. Navigate to the archive location you used for the Tidal Repository installation.

  2. Launch the installer (the setup.exe file).

Note: You must run the Windows installer as an administrator.

  3. Select Next on the Introduction window.

  4. Select Install.

  5. Select Finish.

  6. Navigate to the location of the archive you used for the Tidal Repository installation and click ServiceMgr.

  7. Select TidalRepository from the Service drop-down menu and click Start to start the service manager.

Note: To upgrade your current Tidal Repository, if it is 1.8 or 1.9 and the Java version is 8, check the file ‘tidalrepo.props’. The default path to this file is TIDAL\TidalRepository\config\. If the file contains a reference to 'jdk-8', it indicates the use of Java 8, manually update the file as follows: JAVA_HOME:=” C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17”. The JAVA_HOME (JAVA_HOME:=” C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17”) value represents the default path to the Java directory.

Note: The
JVM_OPTIONS="--add-opens=java.base/java.lang=ALL-UNNAMED --add-opens=java.base/java.lang.reflect=ALL-UNNAMED --add-opens=java.base/java.io=ALL-UNNAMED" line should be uncommented.

Linux Upgrade

This example uses the CLI Linux Installation steps:

Run the /install.bin -i console command, and then apply the instance managing options:

  • Choose Install a new Instance. Enter 1.

Note: If you choose Modify an existing instance, the system provides you with the choice to remove the instance.

The system detects the previous version and offers the option to upgrade the instance.

  • Choose Upgrade. Enter 1.

The Upgrade process begins and completes successfully.

Note: After upgrading your TR GA version, refresh your cached connections for the pipeline view to show the correct data.
